Special Education

Bellevue Union School District offers a continuum of programs and services for students who require special education.

BUSD is committed to the identification and service of students with disabilities within the least restrictive environment. The district provides children with disabilities a free and appropriate public education (FAPE) consistent with federal and state laws. As a member of the Sonoma County Special Education Local Plan Area, we offer a full range of special education services for students with disabilities ranging from mild learning disabilities to significant challenges. Credentialed special education teachers, speech therapists, occupational therapists, adapted physical education specialists, school psychologists, counselors, and special education classified staff make up our exceptional special education professionals. Services and placements are based upon each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP).
