Bellevue Union School District Emergency Response Plan

The safety and well-being of our students and staff is our highest priority.

In accordance with California Senate Bill 1248 (Yahushua's Law), Bellevue Union School District has adopted a comprehensive emergency response plan designed to improve preparedness, communication, and coordination during school emergencies.

Our emergency procedures are developed in collaboration with local first responders and are reviewed regularly to ensure they reflect current best practices and state requirements.

What is Yahushua's Law?

Yahushua's Law (SB 1248) strengthens school emergency planning by requiring school districts to develop and maintain comprehensive emergency response plans for each school site. The law promotes collaboration with law enforcement, fire agencies, emergency medical services, and other public safety partners to help ensure schools are prepared to respond effectively during emergencies.

The Board of Trustees approved the District's SB 1248 Emergency Response Plan on [Board Approval Date].

Emergency Preparedness

Bellevue Union School District conducts regular emergency drills throughout the school year, including:

  • Earthquake Drills
  • Lockdown Drills
  • Shelter-in-Place Drills
  • Evacuation Drills

These drills help students and staff become familiar with emergency procedures and improve our overall preparedness.

Family Resources

Families play an important role in school safety. During an emergency:

  • Follow communication from the District through ParentSquare, phone, email, or text.
  • Do not come directly to a school campus unless directed to do so.
  • Follow reunification instructions provided by District staff.
  • Keep your emergency contact information up to date with your child's school.
