• Bellevue Union School District is one of 31 elementary school districts in Sonoma county (there are 3 high school districts and 6 unified districts) and includes Bellevue, Meadow View, Taylor Mountain and Kawana Springs Elementary Schools.

The BUSD Early Learning Center offers free speech services for our community members starting at 3 years old. Preschool programming is provided in partnership with the North Bay Children's Center and we have Head Start at our Kawana Springs campus.

All sites offer after-school care provided by our CoolSchool partners. Their team of professionals, including AmeriCorps members, provides our students with programming to complement the instructional program during the school day.

Our Kawana Springs campus is home to our free Spanish Dual Immersion Program. The Dual Immersion program begins in kindergarten with classes being 90% Spanish and 10% English, and by 5th grade is 50/50 with all students finishing 6th grade being bilingual and biliterate. Dual language immersion programs equip students with world language skills to better appreciate and more fully engage with the rich and diverse mixture of cultures, heritages, and languages found in California and the world, while also preparing them to succeed in a global economy.

Credentialed PE teachers take students through a variety of physical activities and school sports teams compete in soccer and volleyball.

The District offers chorus after school to all students and violin to all 5th-6th graders in the district. Chorus meets once a week at each school site and violin meets weekly at our Bellevue Elementary and Taylor Mountain campuses. The district is very lucky to have received a donation from the Active 20-30 Club to purchase violins to loan out to students. We have partnered with Move Over Mozart to offer piano after school and with the Luther Burbank Center for dance/movement, drama, drumming and ukeleles at various school sites throughout the school day.

We continue to improve and modernize all our school sites, with updates to landscaping, playgrounds and the Kawana Springs kitchen/multi purpose room rebuild planned for the next couple of years.
