The Bellevue Union School District technology department supports over 2500 networked computer at our 5 sites. Each media center with 30 computer and media center specialist trained in educational technology instruction. Additionally each site is 1-1 in grades 6-4 and has devices to support at least a 1/3 of students simultaneously on devices in grade k-2. We are continuing to add devices and make upgrades to the network to ensure we are ready for the upcoming Common Core curriculum and to ensure we can be successful with our new digitally integrated ELA curriculum.
Jacob Lopez started contracting for BUSD in 2011 and was formally hired full time in BUSD in mid 2012. Jacob graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 2010. He has been a presenter at conferences across the state including CERA, CUE, Google Apps for Education Summits, as well as the BUSD Tech Summit that is open to educators from across Sonoma County. Locally Jacob Co-Founded ITeratED a local EdTech workgroup that meets monthly and where he has published multiple guides on networks, server and data management. Jacob has also received his Leading Edge Certification from ACSA on EdTech pedagogy and Management and completed his Certified Wireless Network Administrator Course last year at SCOE, a Microsoft Certified Server Administrator Course through a grant and has independently become a certified Google Apps Administrator and is A+ Certified. He is currently taking programming courses on data automation through Corsera from the University of Michigan and has recently been awarded a grant to become a Cisco Certified Network Professional through SCOE. In his free time Jacob is an avid reader and listener to podcasts with a interest in technology, science, psychology, economics and of course education. Jacob likes spending time on home improvement projects and outdoor activities with friends, family and his new daughter Maya.

Erwin Espino comes to Bellevue Union with a passion to teach, learn and share ideas that help drive students, teachers and staff to their full potential using technology. Erwin grew up in the bay area, attending schools in Oakland and San Rafael. Erwin graduated from Terra Linda High School in San Rafael, with the most scholarships awarded (6) in his class. Erwin attended CSU, Fresno and graduated with a Bachelors in Industrial Technology with an emphasis in Network Administrator. Erwin worked in the retail IT sector for almost 5 years and recently left his private IT job of almost 3 years to work at Bellevue Union. During his IT private sector jobs, Erwin reached senior level roles, in addition winning the Rookie of the Year award within his first 3 months at the job and Tech of the Year award in 2015 for a private firm composed of 65+ IT technicians and engineers. Erwin has received certifications in the IT field in areas such as CompTIA Customer Service Excellence Program, and A+. Erwin also received certifications for ISO 9001 while attending CSU, Fresno. Erwin’s passion for technology keeps him motivated to learn more and embrace new technology, while figuring out ways to apply them in their respective industries. Erwin is currently seeking certifications in CCNA, CWNA and MCSA. While away from work, Erwin enjoys spending time with his wife, Yesenia. He also loves reading on new technology, videography and listening to music. He recently has become interested in drone technology and their respective uses in the industry. He is mostly interested in videography that drones allow you to capture while you are several hundred feet in the air.
